the fishery

Tucked inside Kingsmill Resort, Wareham’s Pond is a secluded, history-rich fishery that dates back to the 1600s. Don’t let the quiet setting fool you—this water holds trophy largemouth and slab crappie, rewarding precision over volume. Peak action hits in spring and fall, when fish push shallow and feed aggressively. It’s not your average suburban pond.

the guide

Remick Smothers grew up in Washington, D.C., where an early introduction to fly fishing turned into a lifelong obsession with the waters of the Mid-Atlantic. A former guide on the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay, he now specializes in warmwater fly fishing for trophy bass and panfish.

The youngest son of legendary comedian Dick Smothers, Remick brings deep fishing knowledge, storytelling, and a good sense of humor to every day on the water.
